Mandy is receiving our scholarship for a second time! After completing her Freshman year on the Dean’s Honor Roll, she will be a sophomore at OU this fall. She is continuing to study meteorology and increase her involvement in Weather Lab and Set for the Storm, two meteorology organizations. After graduation, she would like to be a television broadcast meteorologist and help save lives from natural disasters by both alerting the public before and keep them engaged during severe weather. She says, “It is important to me to be able to help the public prepare and face severe weather. And that is my passion and what I want to do the rest of my life.”
Leah is from Allen High School. It has always been her dream to go to OU. She is planning to study kinesiology and Spanish, as well as being a student athletic trainer, participating in student government and joining mission groups. After graduation, she would like to do physical therapy for amputees and paralyzed soldiers in post-war countries. She says, “Thanks again to all the OU Alumni for your support and dedication to future generations of Sooners!” Well said, Leah. Well said.
Courtney is from Lovejoy High School and is a recipient of the Boren Award Scholarship. After coaching track this summer, she plans on studying biology at OU. After finishing medical school, she would like to be a pediatric neurologist, specializing in Down Syndrome. She says, “I will push myself to reach my full potential and make this [Club] proud to call me a scholarship holder.” We’re already proud of you Courtney!
Colton is from Allen High School, where with his help the rugby team placed third in the State Championship Tournament. While at OU, Colton is planning on studying mechanical engineering and trying out for the rugby team. He also plans on joining Army ROTC and hopes to one day fulfill his dream of being an Army helicopter pilot. After a full career in the Army, he plans to start his civilian career as a Careflight pilot.
